Life in a Dry Climate – An Overview of California’s Geophytes

Join botanist Rob Preston to learn about the geophyte life style. Rob will share some of the findings from his research on Brodiaea and Dipterostemon and provide an overview of geophytes in the California flora.
Rob Preston has published papers on the taxonomy and ecology of Brodiaea, Streptanthus, and other California species and is a contributing author to The Jepson Manual and a Research Associate with the Center for Plant Diversity at UC Davis. He retired as a consulting botanist in 2022 and is busy catching up on a backlog of new species and other taxonomic projects.
