There are many pests and diseases that cause decline in oak trees.  This workshop will explore the common pests of oaks, including a discussion of the biology of the pests and common symptoms and signs of infection.  In addition to the common pests, learn about a new and potentially devastating invader in California’s oak woodlands, the Mediterranean Oak Borer!

The workshop will begin with brief classroom presentations discussing forest health issues, the biology of common oak pests, common diseases impacting oaks, and the symptoms to look for of infestation.  Following the classroom presentations the workshop will proceed to a local field site in an oak woodland where signs of pests and disease will be observed and management options discussed.

4 ISA Continuing Education Units are available for this workshop.
