The Friends of the Ahart Herbarium are partnering with the Gateway Science Museum and Cultivating Place to host two spectacular holiday gatherings celebrating native plants, community, science and these longstanding and much-needed North State institutions.

Choose between an evening party at the Gateway, or an afternoon at the Ahart:
Saturday evening, Dec 6, 5 - 8 pm in the galleries at the Gateway Science Museum
Dress Up, Sip some Sierra Nevada, Cordi Wine, or Mulled Cider/Chai and Make A Difference at the Gateway Science Museum. Enjoy good community, catered appetizers, music, a silent auction, and let us guide you in how to craft your own fresh, native plant wreath or sprig for your holiday home using pre-cut greenery. Sunday afternoon, Dec 7, 1 - 4 pm in the Ahart Herbarium, Holt Hall at Chico State
Come in your comfy garden garb, grab your gloves and clippers and enjoy the array of colors, textures, and fragrances of California plants in this popular wreath workshop at the Ahart Herbarium. Native Plant Wreaths
Date: Sunday, December 7, 2025
Schedule: 1-4 PM
Location: Chico State University, Ahart Herbarium (Holt 129)
(Feel free to bring specific plants or items you want to include in your wreath.)
Fee Structure:
$70 - 2025 Member of the Friends of the Herbarium
$85 – Non-members
$50 - Student/Financial Need: Provides light support during workshop (2 seats at this price after Director review/approval)

Size is limited to 22 participants; without minimum of 12 enrolled by 12/01/25, event is cancelled.
Cancellation policy: No refund for cancellation within 7 days of the workshop date.
Payment by credit card (preferred) is NOT automatic. After registration review, a secure online payment link is manually generated. Payee will receive email from "Clover" with payment link within 3 business days of registration submission. It is recommended that you register early; registration processing will not occur during July. If paying by check, we may not be able to confirm your reservation until the check is received.
