Native Plant Wreathing with Jennifer Jewell

There is no other wreath workshop like this! Our volunteers bring in clippings from dozens of native plant species, from Chico to snowline and beyond. Take a break from the hustle and bustle of the season to create your own fragrant wreath of California.
We provide all the greenery, wreath frame, wire, and clippers. Dress in comfortable clothes, and bring gloves, or an apron or your own favorite clippers if you wish. California native plants come in such an array of colors, textures, and fragrances that you will have an amazing palette to work with (imagine incense cedar (Calocedrus decurrens), coast redwood (Sequoia sempervirens), sages (Salvia spp.), manzanitas (Arctostaphylos spp.), California lilac (Ceanothus spp.) and California bay (Umbellularia californica) for starters). You can embellish your wreaths with California buckeyes, dried fruits, cones, and berries. We will share botanical and ethnobotanical information about the native plants we use. Come share holiday cheer while celebrating our native California plants!
